「コンビニ支払いで4割が現金派」という調査結果が結構息の長い感じでネットで話題になっています。「現金派はバカ」から今度は「現金派は迷惑」まで・・・。

コンビニで買い物をする際、現金以外にも、クレジットやデビットカード、電子マネーなど様々な支払い方法を選ぶことができるが、あなたはどれで支払うことが多いだろうか。マイナビニュース会員885名に聞いてみた。

まぁちょっとタイトルも恣意的な感じがしなくもないですが、調査結果はこうなりました。
1位 現金 37.9%
2位 電子マネー 29.8%
3位 クレジット・デビットカード 29.4%
4位 その他(自由回答) 2.9%
4割弱が現金派、ほぼ3割が電子マネー、カード系もほぼ同率、という結果。
一応調査母数もこちらに引用しておきます。

調査方法: インターネットログイン式アンケート
ネットログイン式アンケート、という時点であまり世間一般を代表している感じはないのですが、個人的には「現金が4割」なら「残りの6割は非現金」というそちらのほうが興味があったのですが、世間的には、特にインフルエンサーにはそうではなかったようです。
このあたり。確かにマイナビの調査結果で例示されている現金派の理由はちょっとショボい感じではありました。
「どれだけお金を使ったか、把握できなくなるから」(56歳男性/教育/専門サービス関連)
「現金の方が使用した実感があるため無駄遣いを防げるから」(38歳男性/建設・土木/建築・土木関連技術職)
この辺、見方によっては「自己管理できません」という風に見えますもんね。
またこういう意見も。
「コンビニでは少額の支払いがほとんどなのでクレジットカードを使うのは気が引ける。3,000円以上じゃないとクレジットカードを使わないようにしている」(44歳男性/鉱業・金属製品・鉄鋼/技能工・運輸・設備関連)
コンビニの決済手数料を気にされてるんでしょうか・・・。
「少額なので余っている小銭を減らしたい」(53歳女性/その他/その他・専業主婦等)
その小銭が減ったらコンビニ決済は何で・・・？また現金だと小銭が増えそうな・・。
「正直、コンビニの店員さんを信用しきれていない部分があります。なので、現金払いが無難です」(45歳男性/鉱業・金属製品・鉄鋼/技能工・運輸・設備関連)
コンビニ店員に対する信用と支払い方法は関係ないんじゃ・・・？
という例示されている理由にも難がある感じはします。基本レポートのまとめ方が「現金派はバカ」「なぜ電子マネーやクレカ使わないの？」という感じ。
これが、結局Twitterなどで「現金派vs非現金派」の論戦みたくなってきて、その中から出てきたのがこちら。

バカ扱いから今度は迷惑モノ扱いに・・・。
一概に現金＝迷惑、みたいな論調ですが、電子マネーでもレジでチャージする人って、結局現金出してチャージして決済して、って結構時間かかっちゃうんですよね。
それよりもこのデータを正ともしするなら、現金100％だった時からコンビニの決済って、6割現金扱わなくなったわけで、それでレジの回転数が上がったとかあるんだったら、さっさと現金以外の方法だとｘ％割り引きます、とか、促進させる方向に持っていけばいいのに、と思うのですが・・・。
仮にレジの処理時間が非現金（電子マネーやカード）が現金の75%で済むなら、現金4人対応する時間で非現金5人さばける計算で、客単価同じだったら売上25%アップです。
そこまで行かなくても非現金が90%くらいの処理時間（現金とくらべて）ならやっぱり10%アップで、決済コストがかかるとしてもこの数値より多い事はまずないはず。
そんなことがあるなら手数料かかる決済は使えなくするはずです。
それが出来ない、ということであれば、そういったデータがちゃんと取れてないか、実際にやってもあまり効果がないか＝店にとっては迷惑ではない（処理時間変わらない）、という結論になっちゃいますね。
SuicaやApple Payなどの決済側は割引優遇を消費者に出して結果的に利用率・入会率アップするんだったらその割引原資全然持てると思うんですけどね・・・。
