自転車ホイールの処分方法でベストなのはこれじゃないかなぁ。

自転車ホイールの処分方法。
ロードバイクを買ってまずやるカスタムとしてホイール交換があると思います。選ぶホイールにもよりますし、そこそこ費用もかかるのですが、やってみると効果を実感しやすいカスタムです。
さて、ホイール交換をすると余るのが元のホイール。ローラーをやるならローラー用のホイールとタイヤとして使ったりも可能ですが、普通は「まぁそのうち使うかなぁ」と思いながらスペースを使ってしまう形になりがちです。
僕の場合700Cのロードバイクもさることながら451と406のミニベロもあるので使わない、または破損したホイールが部屋のスペースを結構取ってました。
因みにあったホイールは以下の通り。
Cannondale CAAD13についていたFulcrum Racing 900(という名の鉄下駄)
Tern Link N8の純正ホイール(406)
Tern Surgeの純正ホイール (451)
200キロ走行くらいでスポーク折れした韋駄天(406)
ノリで買った中華ホイール(406、倒れてスポーク折れして色違いのスポークで補修)
5組10本のホイールが場所を取っていました。
自転車有償引取のあさひ
何気に持ち込み自転車の防犯登録とかやってくれるサイクルあさひは、不要自転車も有償で引取してくれます。1台1,000円くらいだったと思います。何気に粗大ゴミとして出そうとすると日程調整やらで見えないコストがかかるのですぐ引き取ってくれるあさひは便利。
車体を引き取るならホイールだけはどうだろう・・・？と問い合わせてみたら、やはり車体のみだそうで断られました。残念。あさひだと駐車場もあるし10本持ち込むのは楽だったのですが。
粗大ゴミ
場所にもよりますが僕の住んでいるところだと粗大ゴミの予約をするところからが大変です。ネットで収集日を予約するのですが、たいてい1ヶ月以上先からしか空いていません。
また収集費用をコンビニでシールを買って貼っておく必要があるのですが、そもそも自転車ホイール、という分類がないのでいくら貼っていいかわからない。自転車1台分で10本結わえて置いておいても拒否されそうだしなぁ・・・ということで却下。
分解
他で見つけたのがホイールをリム・スポーク・ハブに分解して、更に細切れにして小物金属としてゴミ出しする、というもの。これは・・・ちょっと大変すぎです。YouTubeで実演している人もいましたが、ホイール1本に結構な時間がかかってました。無償だけど時間コストが高い。
買い取り
破損しているホイールもあるのであまり気乗りしなかったのですが、仕方がないので全部車に積んで近くの自転車買取店に持っていくことに。最終的にサイクリーに持っていきました。
買い取り拒否されたら引き取りをお願いしよう、とブックオフみたいなことを考えていたのですが、小一時間待たされた挙げ句・・・なんと5,000円以上で買い取りしてくれました。フルクラムが高かったんですが、都合1組1,000円以上。
500円くらいを握って家路につく、というのを想像していたので結果的に超オーライです。それだけ自転車部品のリセールバリューって高いんですね。
まぁ必ず買ってもらえるのか約束するものではないのですが、時間効率、費用的側面両方から見てもホイールの処分は専門店買い取りが一番よろしかろう、ということでした。
