パーツの調達含めて大体Dahon K3のカスタム、というかパーツ付けが完了しました。
僕がDahon K3に何を付けたのかを参考までに記載しますね。
タイヤ
Dahon K3の定番カスタムとされているシュワルベBigAppleへの換装。14×1.30から2.00に替えてエアボリューム大幅アップで乗り心地改善、ということだそうですが、別途リアディレイラーへの干渉があるケースがあったり、純正ホイールへの負担増からのホイール割れの発生、など色々恐々やるカスタムのようです。
リアディレイラーの干渉もホイール割れもどちらもちょっとカスタムの副作用としては許容範囲を超えている印象なので、僕は14×1.75のタイヤに留めています。
付けたタイヤはこれですね。
ただ・・・2本のうち1本がどうも不良だったようで、リアに取り付けたものが走っている時に2mmくらい波打ってます。エアを抜いてほぐしたりしてみたのですが、最後の最後のヨレは取れないみたい。
ちなみにこのタイヤ、ワイヤービートで小径ホイールなので取り付ける時はそこそこ固かったです。1本Panasonicのタイヤレバーが割れたくらい、の硬さでした。
ディレイラーガード
あんまり話に出ないのですが、Dahon K3といえば輪行とかがターゲットに入っているはずのモデルなのに意外に見過ごされてる?リアディレイラーの保護。
Dahon K3のリアディレイラーは地面から結構近いところにありますし、折りたたむと外側になるので保護はしないと・・・。ということでつけました。
このタイプの2点ボルト留めのリアディレイラー、初めて買いましたがピッタリでした。これ絶対必須だと思うんだけどなぁ・・・。ちなみに僕の自転車にはロード含めて全てリアディレイラーガードはついています。保険で考えると激安だと思うんですけど。
サドルまわり
Dahon K3で困るのはツール類などの格納。ツールやスペアチューブは持つ（というかジャージポケットに入れる）人もいますが、僕は自転車に必要なものは自転車につける、という考え方なので、最低限ツールと延長ホースはつけておきたいんです。
延長ホースってなんぞ？という話ですが、Dahon K3のホイール系は14インチなので一般的なポンプはスポークに邪魔されてバルブが入らないんですね・・・。なので、フレンチバルブの延長ホースを入れています。これさえあれば近場の自転車点や駐輪場のポンプもおそらく使えるので。
バーエンドミラー
個人的には公道を走るなら絶対必要、くらいのバーエンドミラー。このキャットアイのミラーは何個買ったかわからないくらい買ってます。
あとグリップも変えています。
やっぱちょっと純正のは・・・。茶色を選んだのは単純に一番安いカラーだったから。
ハンドル周り
今回途中で大きく変えたのがハンドル周りの付属品。最初はGarminとGoProマウント付きのステーをつけるつもりだったのですが、Dahon K3の最大の特徴である折りたたみの時に結構邪魔になる。
サイコンとライトを適切な場所につける、というのはロードなどに任せておいて、K3はとにかく携帯性をスポイルしないように、ということで、現時点ではXOSSの小さいサイコンとBonesのスマホホルダーだけにしました。
サイコンもDahon K3用に買った新型ちょっと大きめのXOSSサイコンはCaad13につけて、そちらで使っていた初期型のG+（少し小さい）に変えました。とりあえず速度がわかればいいです。
ちなみにメイン（といってもしばらく乗れていない）のCanyon UlitimateはGarmin Edge 1080 solarでの運用ですが、それ以外の自転車は全て手元のGarmin Forerunner 955で記録していて、XOSSは単純に参照専用です。
なのでサイコンは極論スピードがわかればなんでもいい感じ。
ライト
当初ハンドルにつけようと思ってたライトですが、ハンドルをシンプルに、というDahon K3ポリシーからステーをつけてフロントフォーク付けに変えました。
当初キャットアイのステーにしようと思ったのですが、GoProマウントのXOSSライトには合わず、アルミ削り出しの謎中華ステーにしました。これ・・・デリバリーが結構遅くて時間かかりました。
ただステーの形状から、別途Goproの短いステーをつけないとまともな方向にライトが向かない、というオマケもついて、ここが一番つけるのに時間がかかりました。フォークの穴に通すネジとかも必要だったし。
つけた後で思いましたが、飛行機輪行とかの時はとりあえずライトは外したほうがよさそうです。
まとめ
Dahon K3のカスタム、というか、自分流儀にする作業って、その人がどんな感じで自転車漕いでいるか、によるなぁ、と思いました。
Dahon K3だけ乗ってます、という人は、やはり色々愛車をカスタムしたいだろうし、僕の場合は「まぁ山登るならCanyonで行くし」というスタンスなので、Dahon K3に求めるのは「どこでも持っていけてさらっと走れる自転車」だったりするわけです。
今回はとにかく「どこでも持っていって」「それなりに頑張って走れる」自転車がテーマなので、こんな感じのカスタム、というか、調整となりました。
