パワーメーターAssioma unoをCAAD13にフラットペダルとして付けました。
ランニングやロードバイクのアクティビティの記録は基本GarminとStravaで管理しています。ランニングはGarmin Forerunner 965（そういえば955 Dual Powerから買い替えました）、サイクリングはEdge 1040 Dual Powerで記録、Garmin Connect経由でStravaへ、という方法です。
ロードバイクのパワメはCanyon Ultimateについてるんですが、通勤に使っているCannondale CAAD13は無しでした。
Garmin ConnectではランニングのVo2MaxとサイクリングのVo2Maxは別で出るのですが、サイクリングVo2Maxは心拍データ＋パワーデータがないと出ないようです。あまり気にしていなかったのですが、Ultimateに乗る機会が減って、サイクリングVo2Maxが全然更新されない状況もどうかなぁ、と。
CAAD13用のパワーメーターを物色
気楽につけられるパワーメーター、というとそんなにもないんですよね。一部で4万円だいのMagene PES-P505 が話題になっているようですが、CAAD13は謎のFSAクランクでベアリングも特殊だったりで不可。同じように4iiiiのPrecisionシリーズといったクランク変えるタイプも無理。
とすると……UltimateにもつけてるAssiomaの一番安いやつにしよう、ということで買いました。Uno、左側だけ版です。
Canyon Ultimateで乗り倒してた頃、Duo shiで計測してわかったのですが、左右のパワーについてはそんなに乱れるわけでもなく、僕の場合はちょっと左足が強め、というだけでした。選手でもないしそんなに厳密に計測しなくても、要はサイクリングVo2Maxが更新されれば良し。
という経緯でAssioma Unoを購入。Duoよりは安いのですが、以前は4万円台だった気がしますが、円安で6万円くらいでした。
パワーメーターはフラペには向いてない？
さて早速つけてみたのですが、ビンディングペダルだと足の踏み位置は固定されますが、フラットペダルだと踏み場所が変わっちゃうので、10キロも走らないうちにAssiomaはこんな感じに。
別途で買ったビンディングペダル取り付け用のフラットプレートも、なぜか合わずでLookビンディングのまま走ったので余計にパワーユニット部分が擦れるんでしょうね。まぁ仕方ないか。
Garminのスタッツでは当然左足の計測結果しか出ませんが、サイクリングVo2maxはちゃんと更新されたので良し。ただパワメなのでケイデンスも測定できるはずが、結構変な値がでました。ケイデンス150とか。どんだけスプリントしてるのやら。
2日目でちょっと乗った限りでは随分ましになっているようですが、まだ良くわかりません。
Faveroのアプリもいつの間にかUno/Duoのスイッチするようなコントロールがなくなっていて、設定変えて試す事もできず。
ちなみに僕はCAAD13で走るときは、計測はGarmin Forerunner 965でやっていて、心拍センサーを出しながらスピードセンサーやケイデンスセンサーを接続しながら、ステムにはXOSS G+をつけてそちらでもデータが見れるようにしています。
XOSS G+はパワメ非対応とのことですが、ケイデンスの部分にはなんか変な値（常に100オーバー）が出ています。なんでだろ？
追記：Garmin Connect上でもケイデンスは初日は大きすぎる値でしたが、その後徐々に調整されてきて普通の値になってきました。
Keoクリートの罠
その後に判明した罠が1つ。
フラットペダルとして使うためにAmazonでアダプター的なのを買ったのですが、これがペダルに入らない。まぁ通常はビンディングシューズでバチッとつける感じなので手で付けるのだと力が足りないかなぁ……？と思って、クリート固定の強さ調節ネジをマックス緩めても、入ろうとするのですがラストワンマイル的なところで固定されず。
Assioma Duo/Unoのペダル付きのモデルはLook用のペダルがついてるのですが、調べるとLook用クリートは3種類くらいあるそうで。これはCanyon UltimateにつけてるAssioma Duo Shiは軸ユニットでペダルはShimanoペダル流用だったので知らなかったです。
で、Assiomaのペダルはちょっとクセがあるようでつかない。フラペアダプターで2個めに買った商品の説明を見てみると……！
対応ペダルとして、シマノ SPD-SL互換、及びLook KEO互換用の2タイプがあります。（KEO BLADE、KEO BLADE CARBON、ファベロ Assiomaは対応しておりません。）
まじか。Assiomaペダルが第4勢力みたいに書かれてました。
後でAssioma Uno付属クリートと、買ったフラペアダプタの形状を比較したのですが、長さやビンディングに引っかかる部分の厚みは同じですが、付属クリートの方が後方のペダル接触面の角をかなりラウンドさせていてこの差でハマらないっぽいです。強度に関係なさそうなところなのでヤスリで削ればハマりそうですが……。
一旦、今はクリートに付けられるプレート状のフラペアダプタ、というものを待っています。
とはいえ素のペダルでも乗れるは乗れるんですけどね……。もうフラペアダプタ無しで50キロくらい走ってます。ダンシングもできます。
追記：フラペアダプタの問題
さて、その後フラペアダプタでこれだ、というものを買って付けました。こういうタイプのものです。
Assioma Unoに付属のクリートに固定できるリベット付きのプレートです。これなら問題なくつくでしょう、ということでやってみました。要注意点としては普通にクリートとして固定されるので、ペダル後部のクリート固定トルク？をユルユルにしているとおそらくペダリング中に脱落しそう、ということくらいでしょうか。
ビンディングは縦方向に固定する代わりに外すときは横方向に力をかけて外しますが、これでも同じことが起こりそうです。なのでちょっと強めにしています。
ですが……当然このプレートが重いので普段は踏む面がくるっと下に向いてしまいます。
こんな感じですね。まぁこれで靴とパワーメーターユニットとの干渉は防げそうなのですが、これを足でノールックで適切に踏むにはちょっとテクニックが必要そうです。実際乗ってみて結構裏側を踏んでいる事が多かったです。
基本下向きになりがちなのをつま先でくるっと回すのですが、回るとリベットがスニーカーに食い込んでつま先部分でグリップしてしまうような状態になります。これをもうちょっと母指球下あたりに移動させたいのですが、その時にまた裏返って……みたいなのの繰り返しでした。
ちゃんとホールドできればグリップ感はアダプタ無しよりも全然いい感じだったので、慣れるかどうかしばらくトライしてみるつもりですが、もしかするともともとの合わないフラペアダプタを削ってそちらを採用するかも知れないです。
