Shokz OpenRun Pro 2を買いました。
少し前に出たShokz OpenRun Pro 2を買いました。ちょうどShokz Openfit 2が発表になったばかりですが。

まぁ出て暫く経つでの商品概要は説明され尽くしていますが、結構OpenRunやOpenRun Proとの比較ってあるようなないような……。まぁヘッドフォンとしてはかなりの価格なので継続的に買い替えながら使い続けている人、というのも限られるのかな、とは思います。
出た当初から「音がいい!」という評判でしたが、別途OpenFitを持っているので、おそらく骨伝導＋OpenFitのかけ合わせだろうなぁ、とは思っていました。
Shokz OpenRun Proとの比較
音質はやはりOpenRunやProよりも良くなっています。とはいえアプリでBass Boostを効かせると、という条件付き。これまで苦手としていた低音部分がしっかり出るようになっています。
またUSB-C充電なのも助かります。旅行の時などにコネクタを1つ減らせたり、モバイルバッテリーで充電できたり、といい事ずくめです。独自端子の方が防水性は高いので防水性能は下がっていますが、そこを気にする層よりも全体のユーザー層の増加の方が大きいんでしょう。
USB-C端子がついたことでゴムパッキンでカバーをするようになりましたが、まぁこれ、充電していく間にヘタりそうです。
さて、音質が良くなって低音が出るようになってどうなのか。気になっていたのは自転車や歩きで街のノイズや風切音で、結局低音は聞こえなくなってOpenRun Proと違いがなくなるんじゃないかな？という点。
それは意外に杞憂でした。低音が出ることでPodcastやDuoLingoなどの音声コンテンツも聞き取りやすさが向上した感じがします。
Shokzのminiサイズ
ShokzはAfterShokz時代から使っていますが、OpenRunシリーズから「mini」サイズが出ています。これは後頭部に回るアーム部分の長さのミニサイズのバージョンです。
Shokzはこのサイズとカラーリングが何気にバラけるのですが、日本人的には、あとロードバイク用のヘルメットなどを被ったときでもやっぱりmini一択です。通常サイズだとかなり後ろに出っ張ってしまい、ヘルメットにあたったりします。
そして、実は……miniだと着けたまま枕に頭をあずけたりできますが、通常サイズはちょっと難しい感じです。家の中で着けっぱなしにする、みたいなときもminiサイズの方が使い勝手はよいです。
細かな変更点
電源のオンオフやボリュームアップダウンのときの音が全面的に変更になりました。今回の変更であまり耳に負担のない感じの音声に変わっています。アナウンスの声だけは機械的なチープな感じになってしまいましたが。
