百貨店の売り上げ苦戦が鮮明だ。日本百貨店協会が20日発表した2016年の売上高は５兆9780億円と、1980年以来36年ぶりに６兆円の節目を割り込んだ。主力の衣料品での専門店の競争に加え、収益の新たな担い手として期待が広がった訪日外国人向けの販売も一時期に比べ勢いに陰りが出ている。ライバルだった専門店のテナント取り込みや「コト」消費の提供に可能性を探る。

平成２８年１２月・年間　百貨店売上高概況
コレで見るとたしかに2016年通年の百貨店売上高は5,978,013百万と6兆を割っています。

面白いのは、地区別売上高で10都市（札幌・仙台・東京・横浜・名古屋・京都・大阪・神戸・広島・福岡）で4兆（4,061,341,515千）、その他の地域が1.9兆（1,916,672,115千）になっていること。
ほんとに都市部に集中していて、その他の倍の売上があるんですね。
ちなみに10都市の中でも東京の1.6兆から仙台の8300億まで差は色々です。
こう見ると仙台が少ないように見えますが、それでも四国全県の9821億と同等規模ですから、いかに都市部の百貨店の売上高が高いかよくわかります。

ちなみに百貨店商品券の売上高もあるんですね。
それによると2016年度の商品券売上高は1627億円（162,758,460千）とのこと。贈答が主なんでしょうが、こんなにあるんだぁ・・・。

全従業員数が226,979人、ということで、23万人が従事しているわけで、1人あたり2600万の売上。こうやって見ると市場はシュリンクしてるのですが、まだまだ強いなぁ、という気もしました。
