一部では廃墟がブームだったりしますが営業しているのに生きながら？廃墟扱いされていたショッピングモール「ピエリ守山」がいつのまにか完全復活していました。

完全復活！琵琶湖のほとりのピエリ守山
なんかの記事を読んでいたらたまたまピエリ守山を想起させる文があって、そういえばどうしたんだろうピエリ守山、と思って調べてみたら・・・復活していました。
その前にピエリ守山って何だろう、というところから紹介しますね。

鳴り物入りでできた大型商業施設だったピエリ守山ですが、市況や競合店、運営母体の民事再生法申請などいろいろ問題があり、テナントがどんどん退店するマイナススパイラルに。
建物があるにも関わらず営業店舗が最終的にはゼロになりました。
Googleマップでも「廃墟」で検索結果に出るくらい有名に・・。

滋賀県守山市今浜町にある「ピエリ守山」は2008年9月18日に滋賀県最大級のショッピングモールとして開業したものの、開店直後にリーマンショックが発生したり、近隣に次々と大型ショッピングモールが開業したりなどして、開業時に約200店舗あった店舗数が2013年11月には4店舗にまで減少し、広大なスペースに人がほとんどいない様子がインターネットで話題を呼びました。
「生ける廃墟」としてネットで有名になり、撮影目的の来客しかなくなったのですが、2014年にリニューアルオープンしていたようですね。
リニューアル後には賑わいが戻ってきた
その後リニューアルしてからは活況なようで結構頑張っている様子がうかがえます。

「ピエリ守山」が大型商業施設過疎化の代名詞に・・・
日本各地に大型商業施設はできてきていますが、やはりうまくいかない場合はピエリ守山のようにテナント撤退から人が集まらないマイナススパイラルに・・・その状態の代名詞として「ピエリ守山」がよくつかわれるようになりました・・・。

建て替えのため順次テナントが撤退中で、ちょっとしたピエリ守山気分が味わえる。店が撤退して給水機のみが残るフードコートもいい感じ。

本日訪問。一見今時のショッピングモールといった趣ですが、実はテナントが2軒しかない生ける廃墟。モールの案内も寂しい。
