Garmin ConnectとEdgeが全然ペアリングできない時の解決法。

Garmin EdgeとiPhone(iOS)のペアリング出来ない時の解決法
先日故あってGarmin Edge 530とiOSのGarmin Connectで新規ペアリングをすることがあったのですが、とにかく全く繋がらない、という症状に出くわしました。
１日くらい試行錯誤しましたが、最終的な解決法を見つけたのでメモ。
全くペアリングできないGarmin Edge
Garmin Edge 530を新規にiPhone 13 miniとペアリングさせる必要があったのですが、とにかくペアリングしない。症状としては以下の形です。
- 説明にあるようにEdgeをペアリング待ち受けにしてGarmin Connect側でペアリングスタートすると、Edgeの選択がアプリで表示され、その後Edgeがペアリングのコードを表示（ボタンはOKのみ表示）するが、その後進まずGarmin Connect側で時間切れになる。（この時アプリが固まる）
- マニュアルにもあるようにiOSの設定側でのBluetoothペアリングはNGだが、そちらで直接つなぎに行くと一般的なペアリング手続き、Edge側でペアリングコード表示、iOS側でペアリングの可否を確認するダイアログが出る。けどGarmin Connectではこのダイアログが出ない。
色々調べたのですが、やれファームウェアのバージョンの問題だ、とか、Edgeを一度リセットしてから、とか通り一遍のトラブルシューティングは何度もやりました。が、改善せず。
Amazonのレビューを見ていると、買ったけどペアリングできないのでふざけるな！というGarmin Edge 1040のレビュー（大枚はたいて使えない・・・？）とかあったりして、こういう症状なのかな、と想像しました。
日本語が悪さしていた
何度と無く繰り返した見慣れた検索結果で１つ、たまたま見つけた新しいページがこちら。これで一発解決しました。
原因は、iphone本体の言語設定が悪さをしているようです。
iphone本体の言語設定を 日本語 → 英語に変更します。（ iphone ios 15.4.1ver 時点）
いやぁ・・これは絶対わからんわ。で、iOSの設定＞一般＞言語と地域＞使用言語をENにした結果がこれ。
うわ。あっさり。
つまり日本語だとこの画面に辿り着く前に何らかの問題で止まっちゃう、ということのようです。なので解決方法は英語に切り替えてセットアップする、ということ。
副作用的には、この後日本語に戻しても、これまで「世田谷区 サイクリング」とか出ていたアクティビティのタイトルが「Setagaya Ward Cycling」と英語表示になってしまうことくらいでしょうか。それ以外は問題ないです。
この致命的なバグ、Garminは早く直してくれないかなぁ。
