DuoLingoに中級英語が追加されました
DuoLingoの英語版に中級英語、Intermediate Englishが追加されました。なんか見慣れないコースがあるな、と気づいて驚きました。Englishの中にEnglishがあるなんて！という感じです。
DuoLingoは英語版を活用すると5倍楽しめる
前からちょいちょい言及していますが、DuoLingoの各国語版の中で当然お膝元の英語番が一番充実しているので、DuoLingo日本語版で英語を学習したら、英語版を利用されるのをおすすめします。
日本語版にはないスペイン語も僕は英語版でやりました。なのでまだまだ頭の中でスペイン語＞英語＞日本語という変換が止まりませんｗ
フランス語や韓国語など日本語版にもあるコースも、英語版のほうがステップが多かったり、とかもあるのでぜひオススメします。
DuoLingoの中級英語（Intermediate English）
さて、実際その中級英語コースはどんな感じなんでしょうか。
日本語版の英語コースは「いつでもできるし」的な感じであまりやり込んでいなかったので、こちらはちゃんとできればと思います。
やってみた限りでは内容的には「ネイティブっぽい表現」「日常でよく使われる表現」にウェイトを置いている感じかな、と思いました。他のコースに比べて比較的タイピングが必要なWritingは少なめな気がします。やっているコースのキャプチャサンプルです。
この例文だと「look … in the eye」(直視する）、「died of embarrassment」（死ぬほど恥ずかしい）といった表現の問題になっています。なので他のコースより比較的ポチポチ進められる印象です。単語の選択肢＞例文と意味選択肢＞リスニングで文入力、という流れで進みます。
結構面白かったのですがDuoLingoの大変なところとして、延々同じ例文を繰り返し繰り返しやるので、「もうletはいいよ・・・」とかになってしまい、とりあえずちょっと手強いくらいまでレベルアップをしてみました。
今DuoLingoは特定の言語についてはスコアが出るようになっています。最終的に上げ続けた後のスコアはこんな感じでした。
96、ってなかなか良い感じでは・・・！同様に進めているスペイン語は51なのでやはり素地の差が点数に出てますね。ちなみに説明を見るとCEFRのB2初期くらい、と書いてますね。
レベル感の説明がその下にあります。なになに・・・
日常生活で自分の興味のあるトピックで深めの議論ができる、レベルだそうです。そこまで喋れないけど・・・ｗ
社交イベントを主催してホストをしたり、犯罪やその結果について話したり、物語のキャラクターやプロットについて討論したり、できるそうです。できないけど。
まぁどうしてもDuoLingoだとスピーキングとヒアリングの力を養いづらいのですが、とりあえずそれくらいの舞台に立てるボキャブラリーや表現力はある、と。
とりあえず英語は100、スペイン語は60を目指して頑張ります。
