DuoLingoのMain TreeとReverse Tree
あいも変わらずDuoLingoを続けています。Maxにも申し込んでしまいました。chatGPTベースで電話ができるのはそこそこ楽しいです。アプリで学習しているとどうしてもヒアリングとスピーキングが手薄になるのでそこが補強できますね。
ちなみに集中してやっているのはスペイン語と中国語ですが、中国語のスキルが低いせいか、「对不起，我不明白。（ごめんなさい、わかりません）」と言われて結構すぐ切られることが多いですｗ
DuoLingoの僕の現状
DouLingoは有料化してしまえば収録されている言語を追加料金なしでいくつでもレッスンできるのが面白いところです。普通は英語だったら英語、中国語だったら中国語でそれぞれ何らかのフィーがかかるところですが、DuoLingoにはそれがありません。
僕は今は……スペイン語、中国語、最近追加された中級英語（Intermediate English）、イタリア語、ロシア語、インドネシア語をやっています。スペイン語がそろそろ話せそうかも……くらいで、ほかは全部ヨチヨチです。
日本語にないラインナップもありますが、基本的には英語話者向けのレッスンでやっています。DuoLingoは米国なので、当然English Speaker向けが最大の言語数になっています。
なんでこんな事をやっているのか、というと、日本語話者向けの中国語はUnit3までで終わってしまった、という理由です。中国語は英語話者向けも終わってしまいました。今は毎朝スピーキングをやるようにしてるのみでちょっと頭打ちなので、なるだけYouTubeで中国語会話を聞くようにしたりしています。
スペイン語、イタリア語、ロシア語、インドネシア語は日本語話者向けには収録がなく、最初から英語ベースです。なのでちょっとスペイン語の語彙が英語を経由するようになっているのがネックといえばネック。
DuoLingoの楽しみ方、MTとRT
さて、DuoLingoのユーザーは全世界で6億とか言われていて、当然いろんな楽しみ方をする人たちがいます。その中でなるほど、と思ったのが、Main TreeとReverse Tree、という考え方で習得している人たち。
これはRedditのDuoLingoのインドネシア語に関するスレッドなのですが、その中でこのMain TreeとReverse Treeについて言及されていました。
I graduated from the Duolingo courses – both the main tree (Indonesian for English speakers) and the reverse tree (English for Indonesian speakers). I’ve also completed the Clozemaster (CM) Indonesian course as a post-Duolingo app last month. Here is my thought:

- Duo MT + Duo RT ==> lower A2
- Duo MT + CM ==> lower B1
英語話者前提ですが、英語話者向けインドネシア語の学習をMain Treeとして、インドネシア語話者向けの英語学習をReverse Tree、と名付けています。学習言語ベースで英語学習をすると、問題自体は簡単ですが、説明などが全て学習言語なので結局難易度は高そうですね。
僕もこれは中国語話者向けスペイン語、とかでやりました。スペイン語のun carroの訳が一辆车、とかになるのでたしかに面白かったです。
別途、Clozemasterという別の言語テストを併用することで、難易度が上がる、という話のようですが、ま、そちらはホントに困ったときにやってみようか、とは思います。
とにかくDuoLingoは現状では日本語ベースだと英語、韓国語、中国語、フランス語（と今は音楽と数学）くらいだったと思うので、すぐ終わっちゃうところですが、英語ベースなり学習言語ベースなりで他の言語をやるとさらにいろいろ楽しめる、という話でした。
