セブン・ローソン、廃棄期限前の食品にポイント付与。もっとポイント活用してほしい
セブンイレブンやローソンは問題になっている食料品の廃棄ロスに対して、期限切れ前の商品にポイント付与することで販売促進し廃棄ロスを減らす方策を打ち出しました。
セブン―イレブン・ジャパンは今年秋から、全国の加盟店を含む全約2万店で、販売期限の迫った弁当やおにぎりの実質的な値引きを始める。購入客にポイントを数%還元するかたちで、値引き原資は本部が負担する。
廃棄期限5時間前くらいのものを自動的にnanacoポイント5％程度付与する形で実施するそうです。
もともと一部のコンビニチェーンではオーナーが自主的に期限切れ前商品を値下げする見切り販売をやっていましたが、本部ともめた、という話もあります。
スーパーの総菜コーナーなどでよくある「30％引き」「半額」といったシールで値引く見切り販売がコンビニ本部的にはだめだ、という話だったのですが、とはいえ食品ロスに取り組めないのもまずいので打ち出してきた方針がこれのようです。けど・・・スーパーの半額！とかを見てると5％程度だとあまりインパクトがないですね・・・。この方法にすることでnanaco会員も増やせる、という皮算用も見えるような・・・。
それであれば画一的にやらないでコンビニオーナーの見切りで自由にやってもらえばいい気がしますが・・。nanacoポイントバックだけ縛りにして。
ここらあたりを統制しよう、というのがコンビニ本部がちょっと世間ずれしているような気もします。
ほかにもあるあるのポイント活用
とはいえ、この方策はこれまで廃棄になって売り上げを作れなかった商品が売り上げを出せる可能性がある話なので、実質増収見込みの内容ではあります。
けど・・・ここやるんだったら、支払が電子マネーの時にポイント付与、とかの方が、レジの回転が上がって結果的に増収、お客さんも電子マネーを使う理由が出ていいんじゃないかなぁ、と思います。
この方法なら電子マネーのプラットフォーマー側にもコスト持たせられる可能性もあるのになー、と前から思っています。
