AmazonのKindleストアでは各出版社がいろんな販売促進のマーケティングをしています。
コミックを見ていると大体以下に大別される感じです。

Kindleストアでよく見る販促手法

期間限定無料系

ジャンプの集英社などがよくやっている一定期間だけ特定巻が無料で読める、というもの。
スマホアプリの漫画無料系サイトなんかもこういう期間限定みたいなので主流といえば主流ですが、Kindleストアだと他の無料販促に押されて今ひとつアピールしない感じ。

○％オフ！orポイント増量系

対象のシリーズや特定の漫画家さんの自社出版分を半額や20%オフ、またはAmazonポイントの付与率を上げる販促手法。
割安に買えるのでお得感はありますが、別途Amazon側もまとめ買いに注力し始めているのと、やはり内容を知らないコミックには手を出しづらいので個人的にはアピールが今ひとつ。
読んだことがある、とか、紙のコミックは昔持ってた、という人たちにはお得感は高いと思います。

導入巻無料系

シリーズの1巻、場合によっては3巻くらいまで無料にしてしまう方法。
○％オフ！系よりもポチる障壁は極めて低いのでかなり大量にダウンロードされても収益は出ないですが、ランキングへの掲出やクレクレでダウンロードした人が結局シリーズを集め始める、という効果が期待出来る。
自分の中でも一番いろんなコミックとの出会いの機会があった手法。
長編化している作品の場合、1巻と11巻が無料、というような、流れの途中を見せる配置になることもあります。

最初の期間限定無料系はかなり出版社ルール的な販促手法で、例えば期間限定無料の1巻をダウンロードして、そこから2巻以降を集めていった後、無料期間が終わると肝心の1巻が読めないので買い直す、という顧客エクスペリエンスは悪い手法だと思っています。とりあえずダウンロードしておいて忘れてしまうともう読めなかったり、とか。

本来なら「×回まで読める」という回数限定無料、というのもあってもいいと思うんですが、Kindleの仕様上難しいんでしょうね。

2つ目のオフプライス系はたまたま集めたいコミックがあると助かりますが、安いだけで買ってしまうと意外にKindleの中で積ん読化してしまうケースが多いです。
1冊10円だから買ったけど、実はあまり興味がないのでなかなか開かなかったり、とか。

やはり3つ目の1巻が無料、というタイプの販促が自分の中では一番成長するケースが多いです。1巻無料で買ったものをちょっとピックアップしてみます。

こちらが無料本から集めたコミックのシリーズ。
どれも最初はタイトル見ただけではいまひとつな感じしかしなかったんですが、読んでみると・・・次へ次へ、という感じでどんどん買い進めたもの。

ついに連載は完結したそうですが・・・デカスロンとかを描いてた漫画家さんなんですね。ひょうげた戦国時代の描写が「だってにんげんだもの」的な感じで逆にリアリティがあって楽しめる作品。

達人伝～9万里を風に乗り～：王欣太

達人伝～9万里を風に乗り～： 1 (アクションコミックス)

男子なら一度はハマる中国モノ。こちらは蒼天航路などを描いていた漫画家さんの作品。なんとなーく英雄一同に会す、的なストーリー展開に無理を感じながらも楽しめます。

ダンジョン飯：九井諒子

出版社: KADOKAWA / エンターブレイン (2015/1/15)

ダンジョン飯 1巻 (HARTA COMIX)

売れているのは知っていましたが、タイトル的に敬遠していたシリーズ。RPGが流行ってこういったファンタジーは一般的になりましたが、それにしてもダンジョンに飯って・・・そこまでグルメ路線なのか・・・と思っていたら、意外にファンタジーの枠をはみ出さない形でストーリーが進行する楽しい作品です。

これは周りの評判が高いので試しに読んでみたら・・・という王道的なおためしゲットシリーズ。確かに面白かった。

フラジャイル　病理医岸京一郎の所見（１） (アフタヌーンコミックス)

病理医、というなかなかストーリーになりにくそうな専門医を主人公にした作品。外科医はブラックジャック以降分かりやすいお医者さんですし、内科医などの臨床医は患者とのやり取りなどでストーリー展開できますが・・・病理医とは・・・。というか病理自体が一般の人に馴染みがないので、なかなかそこがわかりづらいんじゃない？と心配してしまう話ですが、読んでみるとかなーり面白いです。
